CRIME UPDATES |
||
|
Dear residents of LYNDON,
These are the crime updates in the Lyndon area between 17th of MAY 2026- 24th of MAY 2026.
Vehicle crime
FAULKNER ROAD-An unknown offender has entered victim’s drive and tried the vehicle door. The vehicle was locked and secured, and offender did not gain access to the vehicle and left.
On the good side
We have been taking part in OP SCEPTRE, which is a national week of action covering knife crime related offences across the country. We have conducted knife sweeps using a metal detector in local parks including OLTON JUBILEE and ELMDON PARK. On this occasion, no weapons were found.
Last month, we were given a report of a theft of scooter to investigate. A boy around 5 years old had left his scooter outside a shop whilst he went inside with the parent to get a drink and when he came out, the scooter has been stolen. With no CCTV and no eyewitnesses, we had no leads to go on to identify the suspect, however we decided that, the right thing to do in this very unusual crime was to have a collection from our team and have bought the boy a new scooter. It was a moment that makes us proud to wear the uniform and to see the smile on his face when we dropped it off as a surprise to him and his mom.
The team were kindly invited to a number of schools on the patch this past week to give inputs to a number of classes and offer the chance for some kids to see what it's like behind the wheel of a police car with the blue lights. With the handbrake on of course. Thank you to the schools that extended us an offer to visit and who knows we might have gained a few recruits in the future!
We have also continued our targeted patrol in the hot spots for burglary, robbery and anti-social behaviour.
On this note, I would like to remind residents to make sure your vehicles are locked and secured and no valuables are left in the vehicles.
